Export woes, weak domestic demand weigh on China lysine prices
Lysine prices were flat during the week ending October 14.
After early October’s long holidays, lysine market was quiet as feed producers, who have stocked inventories during late September, held back procurements in anticipation of weak hog feed demand due to low population.
Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine remained in the range of RMB9.60-10.50/kg.
Chinese lysine exports to Europe will fall as the production of 70-percent lysine does not meet the safety standards of the European Community.
RMB1=US$0.1633 (Oct 16)
